In this episode I focus on the value of coaching for those of us over 50 and how it can help in achieving health and fitness goals.
I start with a disclaimer that I make my living as a coach, so I’m certainly not an unbiased person on this topic. However, I’ve also personally spent a lot of money on coaches and programs for my own health and fitness journey over the years.
I discuss what a good coach can provide, including expertise, accountability, emotional support, and a willingness to meet you where you are. Good coaches should have certifications, experience working with similar clients to you, and references or testimonials. They should be good communicators, take a holistic approach, and help you feel connected on your health journey.
I then talk about some red flags to watch out for when looking for a coach. These include a one-size-fits-all approach, programs marketed as for “everyone”, pushy sales tactics, lack of transparency, and hiding pricing. A good coach should clearly explain their methods and pricing without pressuring you.
When considering investing in a coach, don’t just look at the price tag – think about the value of their expertise and the lasting impact on your health. Improved vitality and confidence don’t have a fixed price.
In the end, investing in a coach is committing to your future self and optimal health in the second half of life. It’s worth considering if you want to show up as the strongest version of yourself.
