Exploring Functional Nutrition with Andrea Nakayama

I often like to say that while nutritional science and be vastly complex, eating healthy should be quite simple.

Most of us know the types of foods we should avoid and the types of foods that nourish our bodies and our minds. So why do so many of us struggle with maintaining a healthy weight? Why are so many of us sick? And why are metabolic illnesses – the so-called lifestyle diseases – on the rise at such alarming rates in spite of the fantastic advances in technology and medicine?

Today I want to invite into an in-depth discussion on the topic of functional medicine and more specifically functional nutrition. I want you to step back and reimagine medicine and nutrition and their role in healthy aging. To help you navigate the messy worlds of medicine, science, popular media, and your own bio-individuality.

My guest today is Andrea Nakayama. Andrea is the founder of Functional Nutrition Alliance, a Functional Medicine Nutritionist and educator, and the 15-Minute Matrix Podcast. Andrea is leading thousands of students and practitioners around the globe in a revolution to offer better solutions to the growing chronic illness epidemic by highlighting the importance of systems biology, root cause methodology, and therapeutic partnerships, and today she is going to help us reclaim ownership of our health.

Join us today as we explore the realm of functional nutrition and how to apply what we learn to our lives for optimal health as we age.
